Wrong-Way Driver Killed In Head-On I-95 Crash With Tractor-Trailer In Maryland: State Police

A 29-year-old Baltimore woman heading in the wrong direction was killed in a head-on crash with a tractor trailer on I-95, state police say.

Officers from the JFK Memorial Highway Barrack were called at around 4 a.m. on Sunday morning in Baltimore County, where there were reports of a speeding Acura heading in the wrong direction southbound on I-95 in White Marsh.

According to investigators, Courtney Yvette Dunston was driving a 2009 Acura north in the southbound lanes of the interstate before she was killed crashing head-on with a tractor trailer near exit 67.

The truck driver was uninjured.

Police say that the preliminary investigation found that excessive speed and potential alcohol impairment likely could have been contributing factors in the crash, though it remains under investigation.

Following the crash, I-95 was temporarily closed for approximately five hours while the roadway was cleared.

According to Dunston's Facebook page, she worked for the Maryland Transportation Authority and went to Kasa Baltimore College Preparatory School.
